J Bar Services LLC is independently owned and operated by me, Cole Johnson.

I was born and raised on a working farm and ranch operating in Southern Oregon and Northern California. From a young age, I was surrounded by agricultural operations, and I learned early on that farming is more than equipment and fieldwork — it is a business. That business side of agriculture is what ultimately became my professional focus.

Since my late teens, I have worked with farm budgeting, crop projections, and cash flow analysis for small agricultural operations, typically under 500 acres. I also worked part-time at a grainery in Malin, Oregon, where I handled accounts payable and receivable, transaction categorization, vendor coordination, payroll processing, and financial recordkeeping for a complex operation.

Today, I provide bookkeeping, accounting support, and tax preparation services through J Bar Services LLC. While my background and experience are rooted in agriculture, I also work with non-agricultural small businesses that value organized, practical financial management.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, maintain an active PTIN, and am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with plans to continue into a Master’s program. I am also preparing to obtain Enrolled Agent (EA) licensure, which will expand available tax services over time.

I perform my accounting and tax work using FarmBooks and Drake Tax, along with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for supplemental tracking and more detailed analysis when needed.
